Happy New Year!
Ok, so it’s been 4 months. I told you I was bad at this.
Anyway, Happy New Year to all! 2024 was a great year with some amazing shows, some new challenges, and some sad partings, but all in all, quite satisfactory! I got to play some great new rooms, and of course return to some old favorites. I look forward to more of that in 2025.
The biggest news, I suppose - if you want to call it that - is that I have joined Double Duran, The Ultimate Duran Duran Experience. But get this…I’m the bass player. Not singing a note! Ok, that’s an exaggeration. I’m singing some backups. But this is the first band I’ve ever been a part of where I haven’t been the lead (or only) singer. It’s quite a change. Also, Duran Duran’s bass player, John Taylor, is a badass, so learning these parts has been a huge challenge. A welcome one, to be sure, and I think I’m doing them justice, but a challenge nonetheless. Our debut show is at Ram’s Head On Stage in Annapolis MD on 2/15/25. Tickets are still on sale, but they’re going fast, so get yours now!
More More More is still chugging along. Lots of fun things in the works for that act, including our triumphant return engagements at the Looney’s locations, so be on the lookout for those. I have some music coming out in the not too distant future from Ashweather. I think I teased it back in August, but life happens, so that should be out soon.
And since you’re all just dying to know, I’ll tell you: yes, I met my reading goal for the year. 38 books. The back half of the year included:
Beyond Band of Brothers - Dick Winters & Cole C. Kingseed
Dragons of Autumn Twilight - Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman
Brothers in Battle: Best of Friends - Bill Guarnere & Edward “Babe” Heffron with Robyn Post
Fury of the Gods - John Gwynne
Project Hail Mary - Andy Weir
The Sunlit Man - Brandon Sanderson
Waylander - David Gemmell
A Little Hatred - Joe Abercrombie
Wind and Truth - Brandon Sanderson
